April, Grief, Survival, and Living With CRPS

My name is April Wyatt. I’m not really sure where to start, because my journey with CRPS is deeply tied to loss.

My sister, Hayley Wyatt, developed Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) when she was 17. She lived with CRPS for four years and passed away at 21 due to medical negligence. Losing her changed my life forever.

I developed CRPS myself in October 2021. It will be six years this October. It began in my right arm and hand after a work injury and later spread to my left arm and hand. Living with CRPS has definitely been a hard road and a struggle, one that affects every second of every day.

I have four young children, and I keep going for them.
